Show of hands -- how many moms out there have thrown a birthday party for their kiddo only to look back and realize they didn't get any good pictures of the fun, family, and friends involved? Or if you did manage to snap a few, were you in any of them?!
That was this mom's concern when she contacted me about capturing her son's 3rd birthday. Even though it was planned as a small gathering, family was visiting from Canada and they were moving just weeks later, so it was important to capture the memories and people involved in the day, along with their sons' exuberant interests and personality at this stage of life.
The party was a brunch in the family's apartment complex lobby with the theme "Zoom and Vroom!" because this little boy LOVES basically all things with wheels. The mom did an incredible job with resourceful and colorful details that made the day extra special like handmade bunting, car shaped pancakes, and fun games like car mats, a mini-ball pit, and a scavenger hunt. Yummy quiches and pastries from MarieBette Cafe & Bakery and decadent cupcakes from Sweethaus also added a sweet touch to the morning!
It was such a pleasure to capture the little candid moments of joy and fellowship between these friends and family alongside the playful exuberance of the birthday boy with his friends and toys. Thanks to this special family for letting me peak into their family time and capture this special day! Cheers to another happy year for this sweet boy!
