What a treat it was to work with this vibrant family all the way from Austin, TX! Denisse contacted me in hopes of booking a fall-session while they were visiting family in Virginia and I couldn't have been more eager. Through emails and phone calls, I learned about her vision for a location that screamed Virginia charm and was easy to get to from where they were staying in the country. I also learned that she was looking to fill a particular wall along her staircase with family images, so we talked wardrobe and styling to compliment that.

Our morning session on the Monticello Trail was full of sunshine on a perfect fall day. Reed (1) and Eva (3) we 2 giggly balls of energy -- my favorite! As we strolled along the path exploring leaves and tree trunks, mom and dad were easy-going and responded so well to the pace by playing with the kids, encouraging the exploration, and just allowing one another to enjoy the family time. This sounds like a given, but it's so easy sometimes for parents to get stressed out during photoshoots and feel like they need to control the situation, pulling kids back into a "pose" or getting frustrated when they want to run! But I was super impressed with their open attitudes which played a huge role in the success of this shoot with two little ones. The results show love, genuine fun, and one darn good-looking family sharing some truly special moments.

Check out some of my favorites from this fall family session with the Hudock's!

From Denisse:

My favorite part of the experience was how comfortable Leah made us feel, especially managing two squirmy and non-compliant toddlers - she was 100% unphased by the chaos and still managed to get amazing photos. I would hire her again in a heartbeat! She made our session with little tots fun, comfortable and captured sweet moments we will cherish forever on our walls.
