It's not super common that my initial contact is with the dad of the family, but in this case, Bryan reached out to surprise his wife with a special gift that held tons of sentimental value (my favorite kind, obviously.) Based in Alabama, the couple and their 8 month old son were traveling to Charlottesville for a wedding in May and as alum who met while attending UVA, Bryan was super thoughtful to consider how cool a family session would be in that same location with their new son! We planned and booked the whole thing within a week and worked out a way to coordinate the shoot during their short stay to celebrate both his wife's first mother's day AND their anniversary!
On a gorgeous summer morning, we played in the lovely, manicured grasses of the lawn, toured the tucked-away gardens, and explored the gorgeous architecture that is so classic to the area and university. With preppy wardrobe to compliment, this young southern family seemed right back at home on their old stomping grounds. Their love shown through as bright and beautiful as the location that means so much to their family.
Who knows... maybe they'll continue to visit over the years until this little 8 month old guy is ready to pack his bags and follow in his parents' footsteps.
Enjoy a few favorites from this preppy, summer family session on the uva grounds!
