Tomorrow is Valentines Day -- are you getting butterflies or did you forget that that's actually a legit holiday for this country? It really does seem a little absurd - I'm one who subscribes to the belief that a person should express love every day of the year, not just the one showered in overstuffed bears and commercialized chocolate.

But whether it's an anticipated day of exotic romance, wisps past like a sleeping breath, or bears more emotional baggage of a sixteen year old birthday party, I hope you take a moment, use the day as an excuse if you must, to express your love to someone special.

VALENTINES.STYLED.SHOOT

The Project

As a recent transplant to Charlottesville, I was excited to get to know other creatives in the area, work on something unique together, and stretch my skills with something new. With that mindset as my motivation, I organized this styled shoot with the amazing help of a new friend, Emily Mora of Emily Mora Makeup

Emily worked her make-up magic on all of our beautiful models the day of the shoot, but that was only a peak into all the hard work she contributed. From purchasing materials to shopping for wardrobe to securing our location, she was my right hand in very stage. It is not easy to take the lead on a styled shoot like this that pulls in so many different contributors, props, and ideas so I am ever-grateful I did not have to do it alone! It was a whirlwind of planning, communication, and preparation but somehow we managed to pull together a set that complimented our vision for a fresh, bright, playful sleepover staged with pretty details, delicious treats, and honest fun.

The process was not without it's challenges - but you can read all about the behind-the-scenes aspects over at I Heart Faces. The national blog for photographers picked up the session as a feature along with my tutorial describing how to overcome specific on-location challenges.

In a creative field, any time your work is recognized by other professionals it is a huge compliment and honor. Not only did I Heart Faces feature the story/tutorial, but another national blog that called [Pretty My Party][6] featured the gorgeous details of all our of vendors on their blog as well!

The Shoot

Enjoy these favorite finals from our shoot that demonstrate all the incredible, creative talent of our vendors and the fun of the day wrapped up in one sugary sweet sleepover for a group of gorgeous girls!

You may now find yourself asking...

Am I too old to have a sleepover like this of my own?

To which my answer is a resounding: Never!

Happy Valentines Day to all of you in the Firefly family! Thanks for reading, for your support, and your smiles.
